In 1999 I painted this piece by hand ~ meaning I didn’t use a brush. The painting endured unforgiving stressful changes resulting from very demanding heat & cold circumstances. I took it out & left it outside under the Sun, rushing it back to the fridge. And, just like me, the painting had no choice but to stay wise & wait for the right emotional balance. We made it through! The question is if a painting was your companion for years, is it wise to sell it? What do you do with the leftover emotional bonding?
I grew up in Azrou, Grenoble and the San Francisco Bay Area, where I have lived for the past 32 years. In July of 2020, I moved to Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Each of these places and cultures has had a unique influence on my life and art. My mother was a dressmaker. Her amazing creations were my childhood window to colors, design and texture. My father was a watchmaker — an expert in fixing traditional clocks and watches. In our house, the nicely placed authentic clocks were set to orchestral precision and were not to be touched.
For more than two decades, I have worked on color distribution in the visualization of observable natural facts, drawing from the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, geology, environmental science and music-color connections. Isolation helps me keep the flow of dialogue between the art and myself uninterrupted. For years, I even avoided influences from various art movements, out of the conviction that I had to walk this path alone.

Dear Nouzha,
Thanks for sharing images of your experimental artwork. It is truly brilliant. What an amazing idea to employ physical ideas to create your art. I am highly impressed. Your website design is phenomenal too; it really highlights the range of your work. I like the references to physicists who are very familiar to me. Yes I can see your art being used as a tool to help understand science. Have you had gallery exhibitions?
All the best
I published a book “Cooper The Compost Worm, The Butterflies Are Teasing Me.” The book earned special attention from the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and the children who created the book’s characters received certificates signed by President Barack Obama for outstanding achievement in environmental education.
